Janell M. McFarland-Forges

Janell joined O’Bryon and Schnabel, PLC in 2018, and her work focuses on litigating matters in the areas of casualty and personal injury, products liability, premises liability, and commercial litigation.

With experience in handling matters from their inception through the appellate process, her focus is on assessing and recommending the best and most practical approach to achieve the client’s desired result.

After graduating from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Janell attended Southern University Law Center, earning a Juris Doctor degree.  While at Southern, she was a student practitioner in the Civil and Administrative Law Clinic.  Prior to graduation, she was a judicial extern for the Honorable Roland Belsome of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  After law school, she served a s a teaching assistant and researcher at Xavier University of Louisiana to the Honorable Sandra C. Jenkins of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Janell is admitted to practice before all Louisiana state and federal courts. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, New Orleans Federal Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Louisiana association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.

Andrew C. Abrams

Andrew joined O’Bryon & Schnabel as a partner in 2019, having begun his career with Bordelon, Theriot & Abrams.  He brings to the firm over a decade of experience in the areas of civil defense litigation, government affairs, and intellectual property.

He has worked extensively in matters involving representation of public bodies, commercial transactions and the music industry.  He has also negotiated and structured numerous successful settlements and joint ventures on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Abrams strives to empower his clients with efficient, effective legal counsel and resources. Focusing on his clients’ specific needs, he takes pride in individually tailoring legal services to accomplish their identified objectives. Whether drafting or reviewing a legal document, negotiating an agreement or contract, or providing representation in complex litigation, he is committed to the task at hand.

He earned his Juris Doctor in 2008 from Loyola University College of Law and his Bachelor of Science in 2002 from Tulane University.  He is a member in good standing of the American Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association and New Orleans Bar Association. Aside from his dedication to the practice of law, he is also committed to his community engaging as an active member of the New Orleans Museum of Art, Audubon Nature Institute and the World Trade Center of New Orleans.
